Laptop supports Intel Optane Memory does that means it support M.2 Nvme SSD too?

Hey, I have questions regarding m.2 ssd,
 
My HP Pavilion laptop (15-bc406tx) has m.2 slot, manual doesn't specify which type of slot is it. But in the manual, they show support for m.2 SATA sdd 128 Gb plus support for Intel optane memory of 16 Gb Pcie gen 3x2.
 
My Questions are:
  1. Does that mean, my laptop support M.2 nvme ssd's, as it supports Intel optane memory of 16 Gb Pcie gen 3x2cause they haven't mentioned m.2 nvme ssd in manual. 
  2. Also which Gen of Pcie is it? 3x2 or 3x4?
  3. What if it supports M.2 Nvme Sdd's with Gen 3x2, what happens if we put 3x4 in it? is it recommended? 
  4. Stated(in manual) M.2 SATA ssd low, can we add 1Tb ssd instead of 128Gb?

As per your laptop and questions

 

1. Technically a PCIE nvme ssd should work in the laptop if the bios enables it

2. PCIE 3.0 x2 or PCIE 3.0 x4 can depend on the laptop motherboard support

3. If you put a PCIE 3.0 x4 on a PCIE 3.0 x2 interface it will run at PCIE 3.0 x2 speeds

4. You can put whatever size SSD as long the interface is supported

Point No. 1 & 2 can you elaborate more...,

1. How to check if bios enables it?

 

Even I presume as per manual if it supports Intel optane Pcie memory then it should support Nvme ssd's; but manual states it support M.2 SATA and further it says it support PCIE Optane memory; so it ambiguous plus as the cost for Nvme ssd are real high, its matter of concern whether to go or not.

Best way is to go on the bios and see if theres a NVME storage option

 

PS. i just checked that the laptop supports NVME SSDs but only at PCIE3.0 x2 speeds

 

which is still faster than Sata drives
