Would be one-way only and pretty slow per user, a bit like satellite...

I assume you mean the lower frequencies?  Because I know in some countries they did re-use 800Mhz for LTE, the UK for one.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) + GL.iNet GL-X3000/ Spitz AX WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~1200Mbit down, 115Mbit up, variable)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

I know some of the TV band was used for LTE like @Alex Atkin UK has stated. T Mobile for example purchased a majority of 600 Mhz, and it using it to deploy low band 5G.

I would like to add that supposedly ATSC 3.0 would allow internet over the TV bands, at least from the little I have read. However ATSC 3.0 it just in the starts of potentially being deployed thru out the US. Even then I suspect it would be limited in terms of internet capabilities. Another thing the lower bands while good for range kinda suck for speed. So I would expect internet on these bands to be slow. I think most governments are either adding more bands for cellular data or for WiFi. I recently herd that the FCC is adding more to the 5 Ghz band, also 6Ghz has also been added to the WIFi 6 standard (WiFi 6E).

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
