Low cpu and gpu usage valorant.

Specs: 1660 super, ryzen 3600 and 3200mhz ram.

Question: Why is my cpu usage while playing valorant deathmatch only 20-30% and gpu usage around 50%? I get stable 250fps but i obviously want more as im planning on getting a 360hz monitor.

why doesnt the game utilize all of the power my system has to offer? Im just curious whats the science behind this.

Well I would think of 2 options, but please keep in mind: I am not an expert.

1) Your GPU and CPU are already at a high temperature, so it stops pumping the Clockspeed higher.

2) Your GPU and CPU don't get enough power from the PSU to go any higher.

How many Watts odes your PSU have? Have you tried looking at the temperatures while gaming? MSI Afterburner is a programm you can use to measure your temperatures.

But now, fellow gamers, that was it for me. Please keep in mind, that this is just my personal opionion and I am no expert. Your system shall be cooled forever, see you next time.

Check per core usage of the cpu probably 1 core is maxed out.

Don't bother with a 360hz monitor it's just marketing bs. The difference between 144hz and 240hz monitors was already astronomically small for basically everyone or just not there for a lot of people 360hz is not noticeable by 99.99% of people so don't bother spending a lot of money on a monitor you'd never notice the refresh rate for. That and most games can't ever get to those fps anyways so it's basically useless.

I have a 500w psu and cpu temps are at 75 degrees celsius stable and gpu is at 65 degrees. I will be upgrading the box cooler in a few weeks as the cpu is sometimes spiking up to 90 degrees while playing more demanding games and doesnt fully boost to the max 4.2ghz its supposed to be able to do.

Im on 144hz currently and i know upgrading to 360 would definitely be noticeable. Is it worth the money? Probably not. Ill have to wait a while anyways for benq to release one with a 360hz panel.

If that is the case I think the temperatures are the "problem". The GPU and CPU prbably don't want to go any higher than e.g. 75 degrees and stop pumping up the clockspeed. Upgrading the cooler should do the trick here. CPUs and GPUs shouldn't go any higher than 80 degrees because it can have a negative inpact on the durability in a few years. If your CPU is cooler with the new cooler the GPU should go a bit higher in temperature and also per cent usage. As long as they are under 80 degrees or max 85 degrees this should not be a problem. Also, it is very nice if the GPU and CPU are running on about the same temperature and usage because that means you don't have a bottleneck.

It really depends on the games you are playing. If you are playing valorant it will make more of a diffrence compared to playing single player games e.g. The Witcher 3. Linus made a video about the diffrence between 144 and 240 and if it is actually noticable. I would suggest you watch this video before you buy a 360Hz. And if it worth the money? Well that depends on you :)

I only play competitive fps games and i want that tiny edge higher refresh rates give :) 144hz just isnt smooth enough when flicking around

Well if you are playing e sport titles most of the time i would defenetly consider upgrading to 240 or 360Hz. I would recommend watching Linus videos about the new 360Hz monitors.
