Pc Gpu and Cpu combo

Giancarlo_Flex

I built my first pc 2 years ago and this is it.

RAM- Ripjaws 1600 2x8gb  DDR3

GPU- Msi Gtx 1060 3gb

CPU-Amd Fx-8350

MOTB- Asus M5a78l-m PLus/Usb 3 AM3+ Socket

PSU- EVGA 500 Br

Games today are dropping fps for me

Cyber Monday is around the corner so I want to see if I can make a new build for maybe a good price that will handle the newest games on high settings I want to know the best cpu and gpu I should be getting or equivalent.

A lot of people have been recommending a ryzen 5 with a high end gpu.

so would it really matter if I had a ryzen 5 with a 1070/1060 v.s a ryzen 5 with a 3080/1080ti. Would it bottleneck? And should I just try and get a ryzen 6/7 and go a tier lower for my gpu?

  • The 1070 is old at this point, so you'd be getting it used.

the performance of thos gpus are extremely different, afaik the 3600x bottlenecks the 3080 in most tasks, but a 5600x wont

So what do you think.
Amd ryzen 5 with a 1660 super?

Amd ryzen 7 with a 1660 super?

what combo would be good for a high quality 2020 vr ready build?
