Question about thermals in a smaller case

I recently purchased the limited edition Mass Effect NZXT H510i but then I managed to get my hands on an RTX 3090 Founders Edition. I'm currently using a full tower Corsair 780t case but I'd really like to use this smaller case. I'm concerned about the thermals in a compact mid tower with a solid front panel when I put a 3090 in it. My understanding is that the 3090 fe has pretty great thermals but considering the founders edition configuration I'm somewhat concerned the card  might be blowing hot air right into my cpu cooler exacerbating the airflow problems of the small case. My thought would be to install an AIO for the cpu rather than the current Noctua NH-U12S. Does anyone have any suggestions, am I overthinking it?

  • OS - Windows 10 x64
  • CPU - I7-10700k
  • GPU - Nvidia RTX 3090 Founders Edition
  • RAM - Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8gb DDR4 3600
  • MotherBoard - ROG STRIX Z490-F GAMING
  • Power Supply - EVGA - GP Series SuperNOVA 1000W

yeah get a 280mm aio like the arctic freeze II 280.

So with an AIO you think I'd be fine?

yes, should be fine. still hotter than in an atx case, obviously, but it should work. there are plenty of working 3090 itx builds out there.
