slow download speed on m.2

i deleted some software on my pc and enter some commands into cmd and my downloads on steam are now at 20 MB/s so its better but i think im just going to reinstall windows this weekend when i have a chance thanks for all your help.

downloads on steam are slow i got 400mbps internet connection and im only getting about 10MB download on steam i should be getting about 40MB download speeds any advice?

Your SSD has zero affect or impact on your download speeds.

SSD has nothing to do with download speed. There will be a lot of method but the fastest is Reformat your PC ^_^.

Did you make sure your ethernet drivers are updated?

all drivers are updated i even tried reinstalling them ive tried wifi and wired and get the same result

my router is good i just downloaded a game on my friends pc and on his steam his download hit 59.9MB/s

u need to check their asus app ROG GameFirst probably throttling your speed limit..

Asus have that on their gaming computer.

The problem with this is that you download, and decompress the files, and then again export the decompressed files on the SSD in real time. So if it's a 660p that is a QLC SSD, it can struggle with this, if the pseudo SLC cache isn't helping it for some reason.
Try looking for the SSD controller temperature, to check if it's not thermally constricted to.

@THE ELITE BAMBI If you hadn't figure it out and if you reinstalled windows that sucks but it is because the installed Steam has it's cache file on whatever drive you installed Steam to. That's why its slow is because file are having to be decompressed and then copied to the M2 from a slower device. All that needed to be done was uninstall Steam and then install it on the M2 drive.
