Good but not great. They are kind of middle of the road drives. Not the fastest or quietest however they are more quieter than blacks and faster than greens. Kind of a jack of all trades sort of thing.

Yeah I have one. The 1TB single platter WD10EZEX. It creates this noticeable humming sound when it spins up or spins down to a stop which is quite annoying if your case is on the table beside you. I have it in a Corsair 500R. even the WD Blue 500GB dual platter model is quieter though it runs a bit warmer.

The Blue drives are fine tbh. I just don't like the humming sound it creates.

I don't know whether that drive is actually dieing or not because I have a 7 year old 160GB drive that does that too. It still works though. I'm using it to store non essential files. Just get the new 1TB and use the current one for unimportant stuffs like storing movies or software installers.

I never had a problem with my WD blue drive. I personally still have a 140GB Seagate drive that is 10 years old and still running but I dont notice any sound from my blue drive and the only thing that has sound is my crappy fans

What are you doing on your computer? The blues aren't designed for consistent usage, they need to be able to power down every week or so. If you are consistently using your computer, I suggest running reds because they are designed to handle that kind of usability.

I've got one in an old PC, the drive is at least 5 years old and has been run at probably 50c for its life. Although the PC itself died a few weeks ago the drive still works fine. It was the main drive in the computer so it got constant usage. It'll do fine for you
