So I have some trouble with malware on my computer. Was looking through my apps to find any apps that aren't supposed to be there and I found this. When I try to uninstall it, it doesn't let me. Any tips on how to get it out?

Also any tips on anti malware/virus protectors that are any good, easy to use and not too crazy expensive? I don't really believe in all that ad bullshit from other websites.

is there some indication that this is malware, or is there an equal chance this is just windows being derp and showing broken data?

also, i'd make the following suggestions:

- malwarebytes anti-malware has a free version

- windows defender is *fairly* capable as an antivirus

- CCleaner has a tool to uninstall software where windows itself has difficulty, it's not guaranteed to work, but you can try.

I'll try CC cleaner then. Just installed malwarebytes but it didn't let me sign up because of some reason

The picture just tells you that Windows can't find the uninstaller for the application.

When an application installs,  it copies itself where you choose (through the installation steps) and then adds an entry into a small database in Windows, where it says "Hey windows, i'm application xyz created by john smith, and you can show the "Change/Remove" button / you can show only the "Uninstall" button, When user clicks on Uninstall", launch this uninstaller application and I'll uninstall myself"

Windows itself doesn't do the uninstalling, doesn't delete files on its own, it just passes the request the the actual program. It just reads from database what to launch when the uninstall button is clicked and does that.

So the picture simply says that the application told windows to run that executable when you choose Uninstall, but Windows can't find that executable in that location.

Maybe it was removed by accident,  or maybe the installation script was bad and didn't even copy the uninstaller application in the first place.

It's not a virus that's preventing you from uninstalling... Windows just has no clue how to uninstall what you installed.
