Hello recently I upgraded my GTX 970 FTW to a 3070 FE and i was expecting to see a pretty huge jump in performance but thats not what i got unfortunately. I was expecting to run GTA V at ultra and get somewhere in the neighborhood of about ~130fps but when i run the benchmarks i only get on average about 40. I was seeing videos on youtube with the same setup as mine except with a 2080ti and getting much better frame rates than i was. I have an i7-8700k, 16gb of ram @ 3000mhz, an Asus z370-a prime, and the 3070 obviously. I tried running DDU and then installing the latest drivers but nothing changed after that. If anyone else has any advice it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

are you running same res? like, are you trying 4k, but they are 1440? Is your ram dual channel? Is the cpu at max usage?

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

im running at 1080p on my monitor which is the acer xb272 240hz, and yes im using dual channel and yes im using all of my cpu

DDU the old driver in safe mode (uninstall the driver first then reboot to safe mode, unplug internet and run DDU).

Install the new driver with internet unplugged (so have it available and downloaded).  Install the new driver in normal mode.

Then make sure windows power plan is set to high performance (or Ultimate, which may need a registry mod to enable).
