trying to fix some issues with my sennheiser game one, any insight?

VeganJoy

so i bought a pair of sennheiser game ones a while back and theyve had this issue with the volume dial for over a year, where its all scratchy and cuts out when you turn the dial up or down. really annoying but once you turn it enough itll stick and if you dont move it then it works... until you bump it again. figured id send it in now for warranty stuff but now these EPOS people are in charge of a bunch of sennheiser stuff and they dont have the white version of my headphones, only the lame black ones. they're sending the differently colored cans as a replacement, would there be a way for me to put the working dial from the replacement into my old one, or swap all the internals into the white/red shell or something?

Swapping the internals might the only option you have left, but even that can be extremely risky. I wouldn't suggest it; either accept the colour or live with a faulty knob.

yeah i took a look at the inside, i'd have to re-solder half the connections which probably aint a good plan for audio stuff lol. i found a replacement on mercari for 50 bucks though so i'm happy :D
