So it sounds like there's even more demand for these CPUs than there was for the RTX GPUs, and it's lasting longer as well. A lot of people missed out on the CPUs at launch, and some of us who were lucky got a preorder in before they stopped selling them. Since there is very little information on when products like these ship, and in what quantities, I fet it might be nice to share at least some details from a retailer about their expected restocking dates.

Thank you for your AMD Ryzen Processor order.

We have received a tremendous number of customer orders that are more than the inventory that AMD has allocated to us.  As a result, we are unable to ship your order as quickly as B&H typically delivers customer orders.

We expect to be able to ship your order by December 21st.  This timing is subject to AMD’s current delivery schedule and is subject to change.  We are working closely with AMD trying to secure additional product to hopefully accelerate the schedule.

We will send you an update in early December to hopefully confirm the timing.

This came from B&H Photo, so it's not some small no-name retailer that has this issue with restocking. Anyone know if other retailers have the same restock dates?

I remeber someone else posting that he pre-ordered a 5950x on b&h but then they told him we might not be able to ship it until q1 2021

Supply seems not that bad. On launch they were in stock for several hours and didn't immediately sell out. I had no problem ordering one and getting it shipped to me without any F5 spamming. The first wave of restocks in germany was yesterday.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I thought I had bagged a 5900x on launch but did have some basket issues. Got a confirmation but nothing picked or shipped. Turns out I'd ended up in a default pre order queue with likely delivery this side of xmas. This is in the uk, a friend also had exactly the same happen to him.

Perhaps this particular retailer didnt have as much launch stock as others but it definitely felt like supply was very short and sold out quickly across the board.

I've cancelled and will wait for things to settle in the NY.

For B&H I preordered it 5 minutes before launch... Everywhere online that I looked was sold out AT launch. (Amazon, Newegg, B&H, etc.)

More like demand for this CPU series was likely higher than has ever been for any CPU series previously. Sounded like there was a much higher amount in stock than at previous launches, but so much more demand that it didn't matter. (that's my guess anyways) After all, you now have parents trying to work from home, while kids are trying to learn from home, and most families only had 1 older computer total previously.

Well, mine is a 5800X, so that may be why mine is the 21st instead of next year...

Well, that's what you get for living in Kuwait it seems. Here in North America stores sold out a LOT faster than elsewhere in the world. (and consumer protection laws make the price hikes illegal)

Well newegg had the 5600x for only 10 dollars over msrp (taxes), and free shipping, and some things are for reasonable prices here, so idk if it is that bad, but what's odd they say it is full in stock, not even limited stock, they also sell the 3090 trinity, vision and ventus oc for 2400 usd, and all the msi 3070s for 1000 usd
