My first pc build so I don’t know much about any of this. I got a 2060 Super founders edition, and I get huge frame drops. My frames in fortnite go from 180 to 17 and fluctuate. It doesn’t matter if I have it capped at 60 or 180, it still drops. Anyone know a possible fix?

Welcome! Please list all the hardware in your build. Do you have the same issue in other games? Latest Nvidia drivers installed (actually, latest driver for everything installed?)?

Be sure to QUOTE or TAG me in your reply so I see it!

You might have a dead power supply

ASRock B450m steel legend motherboard

Ryzen 5 3400G

nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 super founders

corsair CV550 power supply

WD_Black 500 hbu NVMe ssd

2x8 hbu 3200MHz Corsair vengeance pro

yes I have all the latest drivers installed, though I don’t have a windows 10 product key yet. Flight sim and rogue company both have a steady frame rate

If Fortnite is the only game acting up I'd try re-installing it.

I had originally installed a gigabyte 1650 ti and it ran consistent frames on fortnite. It wasn’t powerful enough for flight sim, so I sent it back and purchased the 2060 super. The previous card had no frame drops

Sometimes the GPU drivers can act up when installing a new card. Use DDU to remove all GPU drivers and re-install them and report back.

Update: I cleaned and reinstalled the drivers, then reinstalled fortnite. The FPS drops are still there...

Yes, and completely clueless haha

Do you have anything else running in the background when you play Fortnite?

Downloading anything?

I've had experience with this game being very unstable if I have anything going on in the background.

It could be frame drops, severe lag, momentary freezes etc...

Is it because the game is constantly relaying information to and from the Fortnite servers?

Anyway, try checking you have nothing downloading etc...

I had Steam set up to immediately begin downloading anything that was in my download list as soon as I turned my computer on.

I had to change that.

Check all your stores (Epic, Steam etc...) and make sure they aren't downloading stuff, close anything open in the background, make sure nobody else in your home in online hogging your bandwidth etc...and see if it makes any difference to the stability and consistency of your frame rate.

Not saying it is that, but you didn't mention anything related to it in your OP, and I know from personal experience how much it can interfere with the quality of the experience on Fortnite.

Anyway, hope it is sorted one way or another, mate...good luck.
