Hello, I have had a  problem with my PC for a bout a year now where games freeze randomly then crash either to desktop or the windows not responding thing I don't know much about computers but I have tried most  things from updating drivers to reinstalling windows. I can play most games but with performance penalties. The main games I can not play are the new Modern Warfare and lately the new Assassins Creed. But yesterday I ran the chkdsk /r on my main C : drive where my windows is installed and I could play the new AC afterwards with only a few stutters that lasted a few seconds but today when I booted up my PC I could not get into the game without it freezing then crashing  the same as before I did the chkdsk so my question is do I need a new main hardrive or is it a windows problem?

My specs are:

GPU: NVIDIA GEFORCE 1070 8GB

CPU: RYZEN 7 2700X

RAM: Corsair 16GB Dual Channel

OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Motherboard: ASUSTEK CROSSHAIR VI HERO (AM4)

BIOS Version: American Megatrends Inc. Version 7501
Date 23-Sep-19

No software running other than the game launcher (steam, Uplay)

You need to quote me so I see you have replied.

Are you only crashing under load? Like when playing games, or does the system crash when doing light tasks as well?

It Crashe's to desktop only when playing games. never a blue screen or anything. Light tasks don't cause crashes

Could be a bad power supply. But that's hard to test for.

Look in your event viewer and see if there are any red Xs in the system part, if so, post a screen shot of the full error message.

I just looked through the event viewer in system and There is only one criticial error I will post a picture of it, also only certain games crash. I can;t get past the main menu with Modern warfare (2019) and Assassins Creed Valhalla but I can play rust and Far Cry 5 longer with only the ocassional crash. One thing does happen when I look in the Task manager when it crashes and Memory get's stuck on a set number of MB
