Go to solution Solved by Stahlmann,

You probably need to update your BIOS. You just need a USB flash drive and another computer to download the recent BIOS. Put the BIOS on the Fat32 formatted drive and then plug it into the BIOS USB port in the back of your mobo and press the flashback button. There's also plenty of video tutorials on this.

i have a ryzen 5 5600x and i am not getting any display at all and no one has been able to help me. Its my first build and the ez debug light on my msi x570 -a pro is lit up for the cpu. The cpu isnt giving me any display at all. I took my cpu out and checked for bent pins and there is none at all. My pins are in prime condition. The cpu is very new so it could just be that i am freaking out over nothing but i need help with it.

Welcome to the forums!!!

One thing that is very important to note is current BIOSs on X570 boards do not support AMD 5000 series CPUs and need a BIOS flash to the revision that provides support for your CPU. Your motherboard may have a BIOS Flashback button that accesses the BIOS flash section where you can update the BIOS without needing a previous generation CPU. You just need to download the BIOS onto a USB thumb drive that is ready to be used for BIOS. Look into your motherboard manual on the steps necessary for this as well as another computer to download the BIOS.

Some general questions for those building their first PC.

Is the CPU correctly positioned where the gold triangle in the corner matches with the one on the socket?

Are your EPS cables plugged in for CPU power besides the 24 pin motherboard connection?

Do you have a graphics card in your system with the display cable plugged into one of the ports of the graphics card?

Did you install a GPU? I assume yes, because board has no display outputs. Did you update bios? Seem like there is no BIOS update for your board to support Ryzen 5000 aka Vermeer https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X570-A-PRO#support-cpu

Really do they? I've not yet heard of such a thing. Or do you mean they struggle with delivering boards with updated BIOS?

This is the correct AGESA for ryzen 5000. With this BIOS the new CPUs should work. Snap taken from the support page @DoctorNick posted.

They cause performance loss, ram not working properly even with xmp and b-die, and overclock, and other, here is the main thread:

it happens with other brands, but mostly msi, sometimes xmp not working, sometimes ram latency increase, and sometimes not posting

drop it in, and do some stress testing, maybe your lucky and it is stable, but you will lose performance

There is no indication that ALL boards with the latest BIOS have these issues. Maybe i'm lucky. I'll see about that in a few hours.

Try flashing in older bios, that could be the problem

how do i do that

With your board it's BIOS version 7C37vHA. There are plenty video tutorials on how to flash a BIOS.
