Hi, I just bought a x570 tomahawk. Wanted to check since the pcie slots are close to one another, will i choke my GPU if install a pcie ssd in the second slot.

do you mean like a pcie nvme drive? if so they plug into a slot that sits flush with motherboard, it wont have any effect

I believe OP already has that one

 

@Newbie malaysia that SSD is going to use 4 lanes of PCIe, with another 16 dedicated to the GPU. It'll be just as fine as if you installed an NVMe SSD into one of the M.2 slots.

 

Whatever performance difference if any, you will not notice.
