Budget (including currency): 1000 Euros

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming and School things but mostly gaming id say

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

So im currently planning to build my first ever pc, but the problem is, i dont know if the parts will even fit, or if ill waste my money and not get the best out of my Processor and Graphics card. And thats why i ended up coming here.

Heres the list of parts i was planning on using:

-AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 6x 3.60GHz
-ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING Mainboard

-500GB Kingston SA2000M8/500G

-Case: Corsair iCue 220T (white)

-Corsair Vengance Pro 8GB RAM (2x4GB) (white)

-650 Watt Corsair VS Series VS650 Non-Modular 80+

-Asus ROG STRIX RTX 2070 8GB Triple Fan

-Corsair iCue SP120 RGB Pro Performance 120mm (since i need a fan in the back of the pc might as well just go full out with the rgb)

Hopefully someone can help out cause im totally lost at this point

Thanks

it's a pretty overpriced board in general

you can get cheaper with 3rd gen

try this:

You can get a better PSU with this. I recommend waiting to get your hands on an RX 6800 or an RTX 3070, it's not a good time to buy a 2070 super.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Hey this is a really good start. I'd do a couple things. First, If you want to game, go with 16 GB RAM. The Corsair Vengance 3200 MHz 2x8 should be good for your purposes. AMD benefits from higher bandwidth memory and 8 GB really isn't enough usually. Also if you can swing the extra cost I'd recommend going with the Ryzen 3600x as it gets better gaming performance than the 2000 series Ryzen. All in all though this is a pretty good build.

Isnt RX worse than RTX? Or are they both the same ?

RX is simply the name of AMD's product line. AMD has released a competitor for the 3070, 3080, and 3090 in the form of the RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6900 XT.

They claim that the RX 6800 beats the 3070 in gaming, but we will see what the benchmarks say when the product is released, on November 18th.

True but the price tho 😩

the price won't stay that high. the MSRP is $500 and when retailers get their hands on more stock, the price will drop.

Also if AMD is selling their cards at a lower price, the retailers will have no choice but to drop costs.

Well i think i decided that waiting on a 3070 is the way to go.
But now theres a new problem, how many parts do i have to swap, and how many parts are good to keep? Because i think the processor is definetly gonna bottleneck it.
Thoughts?

There will probably be some some slight bottleneck, although it shouldn't be that bad actually. The 3300X is a great chip for the price.

geometry is hard
b550 > x570

the 3300X was a reasonable CPU to pair with a 2080 ti, so it is a reasonable CPU to pair with a 3070. I believe you should stick with this list, and if you manage to find a deal on a used Ryzen 5 3600, you could shoot for that, but otherwise it's quite alright.

Alright so the only thing that i have to change is the 2070 to the 3070 and the processor if i find a slightly better one . Alright then
