Im planning to buy the quest 2 specifically for Half life alyx.My main concern here is my cpu i5 4570. My gpu is  a rx580 8gb . In games like warzone my cpu time is around 16ms but jumps up to 20ms causing stutters. I was worried if I would have the same issue in Half life Alyx. Should I go for it?

You will have issues with VR on that CPU. I won't be a good experience and will cause motion sickness due to the choppy framerate.

an i5 4560 is no where near comparable in terms of performance to an i7 7700.. the i7 7700 would blow the i5 4560 out of the water in performance.

the 7700 is a i7, not a i5. there is no i5 7700

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

where did the 7500 come into play?? This is legit the first you have mentioned it?? You have me all confused.. regardless.. you will have a bad VR experience using an i5 4560 as your CPU.

Alright I apologize for being too confusing. Let me summarize. I was saying that a core i5 7500 is the minimum cpu req for hl alyx . Now I saw bench marks online for the i5 4570 and 7500 they were similar. I know I will have stutters all across but why are they simillar in performance ?

They're really only similar in name that both are i5s. The 7500 is a bit faster than the older, slower 4570 counterpart. Intel has been stagnant and only providing minimal gains in terms of performance generation over generation

As someone who has played and finished Half Life Alyx on an 8700K and a 2060S using a Rift S, I can tell you that your CPU and GPU won't be able to handle the load and especially CPU since the game is surprisingly demanding and even I have experienced stutters which I've concluded after tests that it was due to a CPU bottleneck in some scenarios, that could be related to how Oculus devices require a translation layer between Oculus and SteamVR which means that both APIs are processing your tracking data concurrently and it's not running natively which puts more load on the CPU.

Though even disregarding your CPU, I don't think you'd be able to run it on a Quest 2 using an RX 580 since the Quest 2 has much higher resolution than even the Valve Index, unless you're willing to sacrifice image quality.
