That CPU cooler is an absolute masterpiece, cools like a charm and looks fantastic!

The other parts are pretty solid too!

Build looks great but why did he but a single stick of RAM?

Everything else is good but why a single RAM stick?

When he got it, it was like $40, and the extra stick will give him MOAR RAM. He is always complaining about Adobe render times.

What is he upgrading from? Why such an expensive cooler? What's the system used for?

Nah he has no real need for one. He is happy with current boot times.

Boot times are hardly the most important benefit for getting a ssd. A ssd relieves part of the biggest bottleneck in the system--the hdd which is the slowest part compared to the cpu, ram, etc. It makes the overall experience smoother and snappier. It's not something you can really describe with numbers and is more of an experience you have to feel .

He is upgrading from an ASUSM5A78L-M, a Core 1000 and a stock cooler. The cooler has great reviews, looks nice and will fit with the white/blue theme. I would go for the TC14PE-BK or the NHD14 but they would go very well with the build theme. The system is used for everything from gaming, to recording gameplay, to editing in Adobe products (reason for the 3TB. The 1 is almost full).

Do some test oc's with the stock cooler first. It would be a shame if the chip was a dud and you got such an expensive cooler for it. If it isn't a great oc'er, I'd recommend getting a e3-1230v3 instead unless oc'ing is a necessity.

Definitely get the ssd. It makes a world of difference.

The cooler is mainly for noise instead of temperature (although that is a nice bonus, as well as the aesthetic) . It is WAAAAYYYY loud.

The AMD stock cooler is quite loud but no need for such an expensive cooler. A 212 Evo will easily reduce the noise by a great deal.
