650W for 2060super+ryzen 5600x

Zozo92

Hello,

I am curious and wanted to ask before spending my money on a new CPU and a new motherboard maybe.

I currently have a Ryzen 1600 + 2060super and its working fine.

So my question is if i upgrade to Ryzen 5600x will i have enough voltage for it?

Also should i change my motherboard aswell ? currently im using asrock b350 pro4.

Thank you for taking your time in advance to help a noob like me.

Yes, 650W should be more than enough.

And yes, you would need to change motherboard. Ryzen 5000 does NOT work on any 300 series motherboards (A320 - B350 - X370)

Ryzen 5600X has more or less the same power consumption, so wattage wise you'll be fine. However, we don't know if your PSU is a good quality one. If it's a poor quality unit, maybe it's a good idea to upgrade alongside the CPU. So, it would be better if you include the PSU model as well, not only the wattage. And yes, you will need a motherboard upgrade because B350 chipset motherboards won't support the new Ryzen 5000 series processors.

If I'm not mistaken this a shitty psu, tier d in the psu tier list, should only be used with very cheap systems with igpu's.  You can verify that, just ask here

to get a confirmation on that.
