Could you provide any details about the parts in your computer at all?

You basically said "help, a thing happened and I did some stuff but it still won't work". You've given no useful information to base any troubleshooting steps off of.

Sorry. Ryzen 5 3600, MSI mortar Max motherboard . MSI ventus 2070, Corsair 550w PSU. I was just using my computer , fans started to speed up and the screens went black. My CPU debug light came on . I tried resetting the bios, still nothing . Got an RMA on the cpu and they sent my the new one . I put it in the motherboard and the exact same thing happened after 5 minutes.

I can't be bothered to go through MSI and stuff . Do you think my motherboard has messed up my CPU or do you think if I got a new motherboard it would be fine

it would likely be fine, but check every part you can before you buy a new one or return it.

No worries, it happens, you're in a rush and worried with a million things racing through your head, just hard to help without it :)

I agree with @Letgomyleghoe it's probably a motherboard issue.

Hello Again. Could you give a percentage chance on whether the motherboard could actually have broken the cpu

Unless the reason it died is because the VRM is failing. I've had that kill a CPU before.

damn thats pretty unlucky, i wouldnt expect a vrm to build up and discharge without killing itself first

That is exactly what happened with mine. The only physical indication was what looked like a greasy splotch on the back of the motherboard, directly underneath a VRM chip. (it was not greasy, it was just what happens to a PCB when it gets hot enough to melt, but not burn)

My issue arose from my setting of the SoC voltage way too high though, not just from running it normally. (as in nearly 30% over the max it was rated for, accidentally)
