got a weird problem here

got a 10600K and a 2080

i dont really know if its a 'problem' but when im playing minecraft my gpu is not even trying

im playing a modpack with 163 mods, pretty high settings, render distance on 18 chunks and when i created the world i chose 'amplified'

my cpu usage is around 10-20% and gpu is around 30-40%

the core clock is bouncing between 800-900 and the memory is at 5000

its also ignoring the presets that i made with afterburner:

i maxed out temp limit and power draw and gave the core +100 and the memory +701 which is a medium OC

cpu temp is 60c and gpu is at 40c (the fans are only spinning because of my custom fan curve, if ill turn it off they wont turn on and the temp will be 40-42c something like that)

this is the first time that im seeing this, it never happened in another game, my gpu is always fully working and im feeling like this effects my performance

any ideas? its just really weird with my last pc when i playing the exact modpack with those settings my gpu was choking at 70c and it was really at its knees, as well as my old cpu

oh yeah lol

playing on 1080p

im getting around 150-280 frames

99% is around 40-50 which i dont know how

in minecraft, when you press F3 you see the frames at the top left so you have the current frames and another number i dont remember what what is

its like 280/50 fps

left is current and i dont remember what is the right fps number

but its always around 40-50 maybe its 1% low or even 99% also i dont really remember

Does Minecraft even use the GPU?  I think you need to install a special mod to make minecraft put a larger load on the GPU but I'm not familiar with that.

GPU downclocking too much can be resolved by just locking a voltage point on the V/F curve in MSI Afterburner (Control F, then press L).

In some cases, overclocking the card can also prevent the card from running at 2D clocks.

ive tried overclocking it

i did 150 on the core and 1100 on the memory and it just spiked to 7000 mem and 1515 core (it should be around 2100 core and 8100 mem)

playing with the voltage does nothing

cores 0, 2 and 4 are aroud 10%-15%

and the rest are 1%-5% i think

It's Minecraft. Not exactly a demanding game. You can run it on a $40 raspberry pi.  Unless you are running with a 4k texture pack you aren't going to come close to maxing out your video card.

Main Computer: CPU - Ryzen 5 5900x Cooler - NZXT Kraken x53  RAM - 32GB Corsairsrair Vengeance Pro GPU - Zotac RTX 3070 Case - Lian Li LanCool II RGB (White) Storage - 1TB Inland Premium M.2 SSD and 2x WD 2TB Black.

Backup Computer: CPU - Ryzen 7 3700x Cooler - CoolerMaster ML240 V2 RAM - 32GB G.Skill RipJaws GPU - Gigabyte GTX 1070 FE Case - Cougar QBX Storage - 500GB WD Black M.2 SSD

Check to see if your fps is uncapped first, seems like its a fps cap or Minecraft is just not that demanding for your build. 100+ fps is considered playable, as long as the build can do that for triple A games.

im using a modpack and im getting 120-280 fps but the 99% low is around 40 50 and it actually looks laggy
