Windows 7 is EOL, you can't expect things to work properly anymore especially windows update .

My suggestion: Write down the product key, deactivate windows (how) and Upgrade to Windows 10. The newest v2004 update runs better on low end systems than Win7 does given you have at least 4GB of RAM and use the Windows Debloat Tool

My rig:

My pc doesnt save any changes, it happened after i installed my Game Ready Drivers from NVIDIA GeForce Experience. Start up will always say Configuring Windows Updates even though i always keep my my updates to Never. I first noticed the problem when i restarted my pc log on to GeForce Experience and saw that the drivers hasnt installed yet. i tried deleting GeForce but it will always come back, Any File, Programs, and Settings would be reverted back.

Is the driver listed compatible with windows 7?

Because Microsoft dropped windows 7 support some time ago and I can imagine Nvidia doing the same

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Repair installation with installer. And I mean Windows. You can revert any updates done. Nvidia drivers has had issues with 7 while it was still supported.

Though if its drive failing, these won't work for long term.

E: Also threads merged. Please don't post multiple times about same thing.

First check two things - try to save one big file to drive, then restart and check if is still there.

If not - connect this drive to another computer and check the same (use drive as data drive).

If that file will be missing in both cases after restart - it's drive problem. Maybe firmware update helps then.

If you think that it's software issue - clone your drive to any other drive and check if the same system on different drive still has that issue.
