Original Xbox on 4:3 monitor?

Ali_H.

So I'm trying to use my original Xbox with a Westinghouse LCM-15V5 but it keeps saying out of range. Is there a fix for this. I tried changing the refresh rate from 75hz to 60hz but that didn't do anything. I'll send a photo of the screen if it helps

I'm using an adapter because the monitor only has dvi and VGA (it's an old monitor).

Maybe the Xbox isn't compatible with an adapter like that. If you happen to have some type of TV or anything else around you it would be best to check and see if the Xbox is outputting video or not. If it isn't the Xbox might have just succumb to its age.

Yeah, it might be the adapter because I know the Xbox works.

Keep in mind that if you're using any form of adapter that doesn't do any form of deinterlacing, it's outputting 720x480i (or 720x576i, if you're using a PAL console).

If what you do have can deinterlace a 480i/576i signal, your monitor most likely should work with it fine.
