Network issues

Dobby_is_free

Over the past 2 weeks I've been having a problem where at least every 5 minutes my connection will get really bad for about 5-10 seconds. During this my ping will spike to around 1k. Is this likely an issue with my internet or an issue with my PCI WI-FI adapter? I've had the same adapter for about 5 years now, and even then it was used by a friend, so I'm wondering if it's finally going dead

P.S I'm using a wireless connection

We can’t determine that just based on the information you’ve provided. More needs to be answered:

  1. What make/model of wireless router/AP and network adapter are you using?
  2. Do you experience these same problems if directly wired into the router?
  3. Who is your ISP and what speeds are you paying for?
  4. How far away are you from the wireless router? Are there any intervening walls/floors or other sources of RF interference?
  5. Is there anyone else utilizing the network at the same time that you experience the problems?
  6. Please run WiFi Analyzer (from Microsoft Store or Google Play Store) and post screenshots of the ‘Networks’ and ‘Analyze’ tabs (2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies) making sure to highlight your SSID.
