Is 1TB Seagate ST1000DM010-2EP102 compatible with i9 9900k

my friend is determined that its not compatible
can i have some clarification on this, thanks

There is nothing that would make these two parts incompatible.

If you have a motherboard with a SATA port leftover, a SATA data cable, a SATA power cable left on your PSU and a place to mount a 3.5" drive in your case it will work together.

I would love to hear his reasoning, would be nice for a good laugh

For future reference pcpartpicker is a good compatibility checker

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

He Said "Because My Moms Friends Husband Said So" but he was coming with so many ways to back it up like this part in the HDD Wouldn't work with this not like a core functioning part like a aesthetic feature etc etc. But he was so determined that it was right

probably some Chinese Whispers stuff tbh, but as soon I got a response he said ye but it could of met something else lmao

Unless it's some laptop without a slot to hold a full size HDD, or a small prebuilt with the same reason. There's no reason it wouldn't be.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

🤨 that's uh... weirdly specific..

If someone doesn't have a reason why it doesn't work, they are probably just coming up with reasons why you shouldn't get it. Maybe your friend just dislikes Seagate, but it too afraid to say it
