Budget (including currency): $1200-1800 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming (Rocket league and WoW), Ableton, and I would like the capability to do video editing/rendering.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):
I'll need Windows 10, 1 or 2 monitors and a keyboard as well, preferably mechanical. I am not picky about the case as long as it looks clean. Clear or closed front and side panels are fine.

As this is my first PC build, I don't know much about buying these items. Do the necessary cords come with the parts (besides power cord, ethernet, USB I probably don't have any of the right wires)?

As to as why I fell I should upgrade; I've been using a 2012 Macbook Pro for the last 7 years and it is becoming almost unusable.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

yes, the power supply will have all the power cables, the motherboard will have SATA cables for the hard drives and SSDs, the case will come with the screws to mount everything, and if you get an RGB cooler, the RGB cables will come with it.

AMD just announced the RX 6000 series cards and they would fit nicely into your budget. I recommend waiting a month if you can and asking again in the future for a parts list when the new products are available.

If you must build now, here is a parts list

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

don't worry about deleting anything, admins are the only ones who can delete posts anyway. you can just make a new one with the same format in the future.

Fasauceome reccomend a great built but if you can wait for the rx6800 I highly reccomend it as it will give you much better preformence than the 5700xt while still staying under budget
