Silent Base 601

Hi, I need to buy a new case because of coil whine which is very apparent while playing RDR2 (what I wouldn't do for that game lol) and I have been looking at the be quiet! Silent Base 601. My question is, would it be too much of an oven with 3x 140mm Silent Wings 3 PWM fans in the front, 3x 140mm in the top and 1 in the rear? CPU cooler is Dark Rock Pro 4 and GPU is the RTX 2060 Super Gaming X. What do you think?

With so many fans it should be fine. I'd probably only do 3 fans in the front, 1 in the back and 1 at the top back. The other 2 top fans would just suck out fresh air before it hits anything to cool. Also check again if the case supports 3x140mm fans in the front, most cases only support 3x120mm.

I run the exact specs, three 140mm silent wings in the front and one in the back, only difference is I only run a dark rock 4 on a 3600. temps are in the high 60s for everything, and thats without even turning the fans above 800rpm. Dont do the 3 in the top, they have no room to breathe anyways.

High 60s idle? What do you mean everything.

High 60s full folding load with 105% power limit on the gpu and cpu folding running as well

With everything i meant gpu and cpu temps.

Room temp around 22°C

Even if it sometimes hits low 70s, it aint bad

Part of it is clearly the cooler design. But "bad thermals" for this case just means it runs roughly 5 degrees cooler without the front panel at the same fan speeds.

Which one would be better temperature-wise? Pure Base 500 with 5 140mm fans or the Silent Base 601 with 7.

get the DC version. it ism uch better than the normal 500

It is, it is the motherf****** RTX 2060 Super Gaming X that is whining like a b**** while I play RDR2. And RMA is not worth it since GPUs without coil whine seem to be very rare.

reducing the power limit/undervolting slightly should reduce coil whine.  Are you running the power limit higher than stock?

I haven't touched the card in Afterburner at all (don't even have it installed). The card only whines when I play RDR2 with the power mode set to adaptive/prefer maximum performance (in NVidia control panel) instead of optimal because optimal gives worse performance.
