I've done testing and i've determined the PSU is dead. with the paperclip trick and i'm just filled with worry.

Hopefully the PSU had some protections built into it and a fuse that blows before having power go over into the system side.

You may be able to recover with this one by buying a new PSU and a surge protector.

It entirely depends on what failed inside the power supply.

The computer's PSU tripped the breaker which turned off the power. inside the PSU there was this copper metal that I guess somehow came into contact with something and made a giant spark. That's pretty much it.

Do you have a photo?

Really just replace the power supply and see if it works.
