6600k OC

Hi Lads,

 

tried yesterday with my old cpu i5 6600k to get 4.5ghz.

So it is 4.5ghz on 1.200V on BIOS, with 100% load at 50 temp overal core temp 47C.

Is it ok so low voltage on 4.5ghz?

 4.5ghz is not that good oc. try 4.7-4.8. I can get 4.7ghz easily with 1.25V.

Yes i tried for 50min stress test no crash nothing. 
Then played game for 3h and nothing happened.

My plan is actually get 4.8ghz tomorrow off from work. So could be achievable.

I will keep updated, but dont want to go over 1.350V

The lower voltage you can accomplish an oc the better, and you'll never hurt you cpu with low voltage, worst case you get stability issues

It depends on how you stress test. I wouldn't go below 1.25v for 4.2 GHz if I want to the Prime95 stable for example, but lesser workloads could get away with more. From memory around 4.7 was the easy limit for air cooled overclocking on that generation if you don't need Prime95 stability, but I don't recall what voltage that was typically at.

got 4.8ghz with 1.356V stable.
