NVIDIA Driver Causing Artifacting?

Guffmaw

2070 GPU

I've been noticing a lot of random light flickers/texture flicker and some artifacting randomly, but i can always see it in the same spot in a msi kombustor benchmark.

I've used DDU to uninstall my drivers. I tested again and it worked no more artifacting in kombustor.

I've tried multiple drivers until i finally got one that didn't cause this issue. it was 446.14 driver. the problem is this driver is like 8 updates ago about 6 months.

And they never fixed this issue, or is it my graphics card that is the issue? Most of the games that came out in between this time i don't use so i dont need the updated drivers. but with cyber punk coming out i would need the new drivers, but considering it has not been fixed in 6 months i probably should not upgrade to new drivers.

So is it my card that is dying and needs to be RMA? only 9 months old. or is it just nvidia drivers messing with me?

Also the card is stock with no overclock.

is it only happening in Kombuster?? How about in actual games?

Even if it's only 9 months old, it could be a defect not related to age.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

if the artifacts are consistent across multiple drivers then it's likely a defective card, try lowering the memory clock by 400-800 mhz and see if it gets fixed then decide if you wanna rma.

Just went to the driver that was not working downclocked it by 500 mhz and ye it didnt do it anymore. so its a memory issue not a driver?

And now i put it back to standard clock, and its not doing it, i'm so confused.

it's "slightly" defective memory (if that's a thing), i recommend going with -200 or -400 for now while u decide whether to rma, would not run it at stock even if it seems fine.
