Why does my CPU get so hot while playing warzone!???

I have and I5 9600 and when I play warzone the temps go up to 90 c

my cooler is an aio from Corsair and I have applied thermal paste.

this high temperature is making the game unplayable do the very bad frame drops.

My specs are:
i5 9600
Rtx 2060
Corsair aio
Corsair pSu
2x8 Corsair ram 3200 speed
As rock Z390 Steel legend mobo

Please Help

Remount the cooler, reapply thermal paste

Make sure your pump is running at an appropriate rate and fans are doing the same

-> Moved to Air Cooling

***

Reason for hot temps: Your CPU is doing its job.

How to fix it: Find which part is issue. First, whats your room temp like? What case and which Corsair AIO? There's big difference between H55 and H150i. Third, are you sure pump is working? That kind of reading usually means some part of cooler is not working as supposed.

My room temp is around 72 f

my case in the NZXT h510

my aio is the Corsair h100i SE

I believe my pump is working how do I check?

Ok, since its locked CPU, it should be having much of issues with any auto-OC or voltages. Unless you had typo and its K-model. You can check if pump is working either by listening it, or checking whats the rpm in fan header its connected to.

So I have found out it is not the the cpu temps because I got the temperature lower by cleaning and re applying thermal

paste and it is still unplayable and i frame skip everywhere

That makes big difference. Now you should check if there's auto-OC enabled (including Multi-Core Enchantment) which will cause mobo to give CPU more voltage than it actually needs. Which leads to high temps.

? I thought this thread was about 90C temps on your CPU. Any issues with games could be from multiple sources and components, including the game itself.

I think it could be the hard drive when I play warzone and get into the game it starts fps dropping once it is at least 4 mins into the game, the start is perfectly fine. And when I checked task manager it was at 100% would that make sense?!! I only use a hard drive and I have heard it’s not enough for warzone?!

if so any suggestions for an ssd under 100$

I guess it depends on what you want to invest in. Crucial p1 1tb or Kingston a2000 1tb should be about 100d. If all you need is 500GB, A-data sx8200 pro or Pny xlr8 cs3030 are good faster options for about 60-65d.

I’m new to this stuff: is a NVME the same thing as this. If so is Wd black 500gb good?

I was also getting stuttering, huge laggy frame drops in warzone even though I get a solid 130-140 FPS on Ultra/Max everything it was unplayable due to the issue.

I fixed it by following a fix which is quite well documented if you google it.

Go to C:\Documents\Call of Duty Modern Warfare\players\adv_options.ini

Change the video memory scale setting to 0.65

Some people say 0.55 which i have tried and works same as 0.65, others say setting it to 1.0 is better but I haven't tried that because 0.65 sorted it out for me

That thing should be illegal at this point.

Try lowering the resolution or details to see if you get more FPS, enable vsync as well.

If it's the same issue that I had I suspect he is getting very good FPS but still big lags or drops every few seconds. Apparently it's a VRAM optimization issue

GOAT. I had changed it from .85 to 1.6 before because it gave me more v ram. It changed back to .9 when I tried to fix the game by scanning it for fixes. I switch it to 1.00 it’s super smooth!!!

thanks!

I'm surprised 1 is smooth for you, 1 is jerky for me to be honest.

I don't actually think it changes the amount of vram the game can use, it just changes the scale, you can still use high settings that go beyond what the game says is max and then it just gives you a warning when you apply the settings.

I found that 0.65 was the fix for me, if you start to see jerking again I'd recommend trying that.

For now though enjoy the smoothness
