PSU Recommendation: Silent Operation

Hello,

 

After finally finishing my final pc build, I am finding that I need a different PSU. I have had the corsair CX 750 for about three years and it has carried with me in every new build. However, the fan ramps up under any gpu load and the coil whine is to be frank, unbearable. I am looking for a psu that is either fanless or quiet when the fan does spin. Below is my system specs. Another reason I want a new PSU is so I can overclock my CPU My mobo has a 8+4 cpu power and I only have a 8 pin plugged in. According to the mobo manual, this is fine and you need other when overclocking.

Intel Core I7-10700k

Asus ROG Strix Z490-E

32GB 8X4 Corsair RGB PRO memory

EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Super XC Ultra

Corsair CX750 PSU

Full HYRDOX custom watercooling. 

9x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans

Lian LI 011 Dynamic Razer Edition Case. 

Dual commander pros. 

 

Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Obviously I have a preference for corsair integration on their higher end PSU's.

You dont need the extra 4 pin at all, especially with only a 10700k. 

 

The RM850 I used in Rainbow 2020 Build Log (in signature) is pretty quiet (2019 "gray") although the 2018 is technically better.

For Corsair PSUs and the higher end ones they are all quiet.

 

Especially the RMX, RMI, HX, and HXI

 

Recommending an 850W for future GPU upgrades etc.

If you want TRUELY quiet, go with something ridiculously overkill that will only be utilized 10-25%. Like a 1300w EVGA Plat PSU or something of that nature.
