You need a colon at the end of the line.

Both 2.7 and 3 require a colon at the end of an if statement iirc. On a side note 2.7 is EOL, if you use python regularly I strongly recommend moving to 3.

but what are the differences other than brackets at the print statement

OK I got it to work! I had a few errors from importing all variables from module and it works smoothly now. Thanks!
