How to install windows from an already formatted usb drive

Hi,

      I bootcamped windows on a previous macbook and therefore still have a WinInstall usb but now when i try to bootcamp the bootcamp assistant looks different than it used to, taking me straight to a screen to choose my parition and iso image with no option to install usb pls help as windows would be nice so i could get better fps ingame

Is this a new Mac? If it's a 2015 model or newer (or a 2013 Mac Pro) then you don't need a USB drive to install Windows. This link can walk you through the process.

No it is an early 2014 i5 running catalina

Why do you want to install from that USB? Not needed anymore for recent bootcamp assistants as you see.

because the wifi is very slow and it is more convenient

You can boot the installer by plugging the USB and pressing the option key while powering on, but you'll have to sort out partitions manually prior to that.

Disk utility sometimes lets you do it non-destructively.

You don't, just create a partition and leave it unformatted, Windows installer will format NTFS.

there is no option to leave it unformatted

Then format as DOS or whatever, just maybe not APFS. Would be easier if you listed what it offers you.
