New Motherboards for AMD 5000?

I just discovered one of the DIMM slots on my motherboard is bad.

 

I figure I'd treat myself to AMD 5000 and a new board. Am I correct in assuming there's no new chipset coming out when the new CPUs launch next month? It's just x570 and b550?

Yeah no new chipsets. And AMD are already providing bios updates for B550/X570.

You would need an X570 chipset for a 2600X.

No a B550 also support 2600x.

You can run a 2600X in a B550 board (generally, but check specific compatibility on manufacturer's page)

I have a Crosshair VII hero, which I was hoping would last me quite a while. Unfortunately, I diagnosed my recent and frequent BSODs to a bad DIMM slot and I'm ready to scrap it for something new with PCI 4.0.

 

I have a 2600x and plan to get a 5800X.

Ah alright, if it's under warranty you could RMA it, but if you can't.. 

And since i don't know your budget/ currency. 

The x570 tomahawk/ x570 tuf plus are quite decent, if you couldn't find them, the x570 aorus elite is also decent.

If you're going to get a board with zen 3, the x570 tomahawk/ tuf plus/ aorus elite are good, or the b550 tomahawk or the a pro or the b550 aorus pro or the b550 strix f are decent, but if you plan on running a 2600x with a new board first, the x570 tomahawk/tuf/ aorus elite are decent.

Yea all of these x570/b550 boards are around/under 300 CAD, and they're pretty good. 

as said above though, if you plan on running your 2600x with the new board, you will be limited to x570 as b550 does not support zen +.

No you can't as that chipset only supports Ryzen 3000 and Ryzen 5000.

Yeah, I checked that in the meantime and you're right. I guess AMD figured B450 was good enough (and X570 came out much earlier).
