Need Upgrade Tips

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

I'm from Romania and I mostly use www.emag.ro to shop for electronics and I found the suggested parts but the price difference between the 2gb gpu and the 4gb one is rather high so I'm inclined on choosing the 2gb one.

If you can recommend a more reliable website for the purchase it would be much appreaciated.

This is the link if it helps anyhow http://www.emag.ro/search/EVGA%20EVGA%20GeForce%20GTX%20770%2004G%20P4%203776%20KR%20FTW%204GB%20Dual%20w%20EVGA%20ACX%20Cooler

Probably no need to upgrade your cpu/motherboard--at least not yet.

A gpu + ssd will be fine.

Heya fellas, seeing the fact that I'm a total scrub when it comes to computer hardware I really require some help. I'm looking to upgrade my computer.

Here's my current rig, info extracted from a dxdiag file:

System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
       System Model: X58A-UD3R
               BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
          Processor: Intel® Core i7 CPU         950  @ 3.07GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
             Memory: 6144MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 6142MB RAM
Page File: 1661MB used, 10622MB available

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
       Manufacturer: NVIDIA
          Chip type: GeForce GTX 460
           DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
         Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0E22&SUBSYS_35011458&REV_A1
     Display Memory: 3793 MB
   Dedicated Memory: 978 MB
      Shared Memory: 2815 MB

Aiming to get an SSD for the os and main applications as well. Afaik I have some compatibility issues I think with the ram memory for having 3x 2gb Ram units, don't know exactly and also my motherboard seems to have some issues as well I think.

Don't know exactly what to show from the dxdiag file so I attached it to this post.My current budget is around 1300$. My main goal is to get high end gaming performances and decent multi tasking support allowed by my budget.

Thanks in advance!

What kind of dollars are you using?

What's the system being used for? What peripherals do you currently have? Full system, specs would also help.

That's a decent one. If you can find a better LGA 1366 board then go for it. That one is fairly old but has still the features that the new ones have.

Potatoes are good for your nostrils.

I'm in the Eu region so I just converted the euros to the us dollars. Budget would be 1000 in euros

Don't waste your time converting currencies. Just tell us where you're actually shopping so you can take advantage of sales which would vary from region to region. Be a bit more specific. Europe is a bit too large/vague.

So you think the cpu/motherboard will last for 1 or 2 more years? If so, will the new gpu have any problems with the motherboard?

It should be maybe another year or so before you would want to upgrade your cpu/motherboard.
