does vga limit ram speed? cuz my ram is running at 2400mhz when its supposed to run at 3200mhz. so im curious if its the vga cable thats limiting it.

dont tell me to enable xmp/docp change voltage / overclock or do anything cuz i tried everything possible but it still doesnt go above 2400mhz which literally makes me lose lot of performance. so is it the vga cable???

If you tried everything possible you'd have sorted it out... and wouldn't need to make this.
I'd update your Motherboard BIOS FIRST,.... as your Ramspeeds don't stick or have issues, and compatibility can be helped greatly by having an Updated Bios.

An Old Bios can be exactly the cause why it won't use 3200Mhz.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Reinstalling won't do anything.

Look up the SPD presets in your ram sticks using software like Aida64 or CPU-Z.

Pick the memory timings for 3200 Mhz, or write down all the presets between 2400 and 3200 Mhz.

Get the timings for a preset and change them to be more conservative, a notch slower. For example, if you have 16-17-16 in preset, increase all by 1-2, for example 17-18-17

Go in BIOS and set those timings manually. You can try starting with 2666 Mhz, if all works well try with 2800 something, 2933   , 3000 mhz , and at the end 3200 mhz.

Make sure the motherboard sets the memory voltage to the right amount - your sticks may work with 1.2v at 2400 Mhz, but may need 1.35v to run at anything higher, maybe for some reason your motherboard's bios doesn't set the voltage right.

Without going too deep into troubleshooting the mobo, you could very well try this..

Chasing the Dragon, Manually.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
