The best value cpu is Ryzen 3600.

I was thinking that too. Do you think it's better to pay extra for the x or xt?

Depends on the workload. What's a good value for gaming may not be a good value for workstation.

For example, the R5 3600 is widely considered a great value for gaming and some productivity, but would not be a good value for 8k video rendering.

Be sure to QUOTE or TAG me in your reply so I see it!

It all depends what you're doing. The 3600 and 10600K are both contenders for gaming, the 3950X and Threadripper are good contenders for workstations, heck old Xeons are good value for upgrading old systems.

The days of overclocking one CPU to another are essentially over, since CPUs are basically maxed out out of the box these days.

3600X is cheaper than the 3600 on Amazon right now, so it depends on the day for pricing.

Honestly, best value really depends on budget and need.  3400G is a fantastic value right now too,  for an APU.

Yes, but it doesn't gain much performance from it. Most of the gain on Ryzen comes from overclocking memory and fabric, where the 3600 and 3600X are essentially the same.

What would be recommended for cooling something like that?

Well in this case, get a 3600x.

The stock cooler is good enough, but for more cooling power i suggest getting a $30-40 heatpipe cooler like Hyper 212 or Noctua U12.

If you are lucky you may get a 3600 made in 2020 in week 14+ orso. These will perform better than even the 3600x in most cases. Even when overclocking.

MSI B450 gaming pro carbon ac              (motherboard)      |    (Gpu)             ASRock Radeon RX 6950 XT Phantom Gaming D 16G

You cant u till you opened it and checked the number on the cpu itself sadly. However most ones in stores and stock for online purchases right now should be around that date. Meaning.. they will be better than what the 3600x can do. Unless of course you get a fairly new one but I doubt that 😉

Not for that CPU. Only really with a high end Intel or ryzen 9 should you need an aio.

Yes, it could come from the same batch since the non x is pretty much identical in the design.

Not really.  120mm AIO's are for small form factor cases usually.

Neither will outdo the stock cooler by much anyway.
