Hey Linus fans

Been a good few years since I've posted here, but I built a new system this April and it's my first hard tubing build and first case mod in a long, long time so I thought I'd finally show it off. My past few builds have been named NAOMI, which is just an acronym for Non-Autonomous Operating Manual Interface (a name I used for an OS in a sci-fi short story I wrote a few years back). This is the 4th iteration of that name. Anyway, enough exposition, here's some specs:

-R5 3600X

-RX 5700 XT (custom hardline loop)

-MSi X570 Gaming Edge Wifi

-16GB 3200mhz Viper Steel RAM

-1x 250GB 840 Evo 1x 500GB 860 Evo 1x 1TB WD Blue 1x 2TB WD Blue

-NZXT S340

This build happened in a few different stages. GPU came in first, so I ran in on the old 8350 until the rest of the components came in, after which I built the new system with the stock blower card until the water cooling parts arrived. Did the cooling loop on the card, and designed the front panel at the same time. The s340 is a solid case, but its compact size made water cooling a challenge, and the front panel blocked too much airflow so I knew ahead of time I would need to open up the intake a bit, which I did with 16 gauge perforated steel. I intend on adding another 240 radiator up front, and tying the CPU into the loop with the 5000 series chips launch and I figure how I'll fit everything in the case. I'm not much for replacing a chassis until it's completely necessary, and besides the scratches in the acrylic the S340 really holds up. I had a build time lapse but, it was far too large to upload, so you get pics instead.

It isn't much but it's honest work.

Next two sets of pics are just a log of how I did the front panel. I bought a 2'x4' sheet of perforated steel, cut it down to the size I needed, modified the existing front panel by cutting a large hole in it and attached the new panel with large magnets.

Obviously this isn't everything, most these pics are from April, since I built this I've dedicated a full 12'x14' room for VR gaming with this system running it. but with all the wires hung up on the wall I didn't feel it warranted photographic evidence. Also, I've added another ssd. If you've taken the time to scroll through all these pics then I seriously appreciate you.

Hope you're staying safe this year, and happy gaming!

Noice. It's nice to see a Dremel in action in this day and age.

I'm about to have to pull it out again to make the new radiator line up with the fan mounts. The S340 has vent fins over the hard drive bays and a couple of them have to come out.
