window using pagefile while there still unused memory space

i watch ltt "Will More RAM Make your PC Faster?? (2020)" make me want to check my pagefile. it seem pagefile usage grow bigger when i leave pc on without shut down longer.

all setting is default. even in game rainbow six there pagefile usage while there still unused memory. pagefile usage return to 0 when i restart and it stay like that until sometime.

is this normal?

OS: windows 10 homes

GPU: MSI RX 570 Gaming X

RAM: 2x8gb ddr4 corsair valueselect

MOBO: ASUS H110M-K 

CPU: Intel G4560

Some app do use pagefile even if theres memory available.

Thats normal

 

Windows will page out ram that isn't being used. It helps performance as it allow there to be more ram used for disk caching and if other programs need it.

 

THe program occurs when the page file hits affects performance, but thats not happening here it seems.

That's normal going back to the 90s when page files were first a thing. 

Like others it's has to do with ram that not in use.
