I’m building a new pc and looking for streaming and gaming could I save some money and get away with r7 3700x instead of r9 3900x? I’ve got a x570 MOBO and am looking to upgrade the cpu in late 2021 to the one of the newly announced 5000 series cpus. Soo is it worth to spend the 430 ish dollars for the r9? Or could I get away with the r7 for now? Thank in advance!!!

First of all, wait for zen 3 now without upgrading from a zen 2 cpu to a zen 3 one, second of all, if you're using an ampere card or a 1650 super or better you could use nvec and offload that work to the hardware encoder (nvec) on the gpu, with little performance hit and you could step down to a 3700x/3600 or the 5800x/5700x/5600x/5600.

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

I’m using  2070 super but I was just asking save the money now? Get the R7 and then upgrade like late 21 to zen 3

I'd recommend just getting zen 3 without getting zen 2 then upgrading zen 3 but if it's not possible, since you're using a 2070 super, you could just use NVEC and offload the streaming load to the gpu's hardware encoder and save some money and step down to a 3700x/3600.
