GPU upgrade advice

Mentor

I 've wanted to upgrade my graphics card  to achieve the good +60fps in triple A games releasing nowadays , so is a used RX 580 (perfect condition) worth it for 200$ and would a 6 to 8 pin connector do it cause my psu only has a 6 pin or there are other options I should consider ? open for suggestions

An RX580 brand new at my local Memory Express (Canada) is about $259.99 ($195USD roughly), So if an RX580 Is what you want to go with, I would recommend getting a brand new one so that you have some warranty on it.

On the other side of the table, meaning the used market, there are GTX1070's, RTX2060's and RTX2060 Supers (Maybe even a 2070) all ranging between $200USD and $300USD that you could get your hands on.

All the GPU's listed above with the exception of the 1070 will take a 6pin or 8 pin. The 1070 I think might take either an 8 or more pin connector iirc, but I could be wrong.

In the long run, the better deal you can get for a higher end card (your bottom line being an RX580), The better. Some of the AAA titles expected to come out in the next year are going to recommend some serious horsepower. An RX580 would do fine for now, but for how long is the question, where as something like a 1070/1080 or even a used 5700XT will get you better performance for longer.

CPU: Ryzen 7 3800X GPU: Reference 5700XT (Asus) Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X470-F RAM: Corsair 32GB Vengeance 3600Mhz PSU: Corsair RM850X White

Cooling: Corsair H115i RGB Storage: 500GB WD SN750 M.2, 4TB Samsung EVO SSD Case: NZXT H500i White

Keyboard: Asus ROG Strix Flare (MX Red) Mouse: Corsair Sabre RGB

so you mean for this price and also being used its not worth it?

put in mind that my budget is roughly 220$ (turned from my currency to usd) ,new card are really expensive so used market is probably my only option where for 200$  instead of the rx 580 I can  get gtx 1060 or 1660 cuz  the 1070 goes for around 280$

If you can find an RX580 8GB card (My local store still sells the MSI Armor OC RX580 8GB specifically), I would take it versus a used one, considering that it would be close if not equal to the price of the used one you've looked at, and would have warranty on it. The used market is really dependant on where you live, so Im speaking as a Canadian user, where I have seen used GPU's on my local classifieds for anywhere between 200 and 300+ USD for the 2060 and 2060S, and the 2070/2070S respectively.

So the 2060/Super, 1070, RX 5600xt, RX 5700 are the nest level of GPUs
