My cpu turbo boost doesn't work, after some time I figured out that the problem is caused by the motherboard's cpu temperature sensor that seems for some reason to show that the temparature is 100c while the cpu is not really that warm. How do I fix it?

my computer:

cpu: i5 9400f.

gpu: gtx 1650 super.

memory: 16gb ram.

motherboard: asus prime h310m e r2.0.

Could be a hotspot on the CPU heatspreader where paste isn't really doing its job.

And this hotspot of course will have higher readings than what you 'feel' its doing.

Re-Thermal Paste please..

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Fans are on 100% all time. I think the motherboard is the problem, I had the same issue with my previous cpu thats why I switched him, I thought the cpu was the problem but apparently its not. what I wanted to ask is if there is some way to activate turbo boost when the tempareture is so high?

Have you ever successfully installed a CPU before? What heatsink do you have and did you use any thermal paste? Did you use enough? If your heatsink has 4 push pins to attach it to the motherboard, perhaps you are only installing 3 out of the 4. That can happen if you push them in one by one. This would cause sky high temperatures. If you have a heatsink with this design, try pushing 2 of the 4 pins into the motherboard at a time. Go diagonal from corner to corner.

If you are still having problems, pull the motherboard and have a look at the backside. make sure the heatsink is properly attached to the motherboard at all four corners.

There will be no turbo boost and your CPU will run like a slug until you get it installed correctly. It will thermal throttle continuously at about 800 MHz. Run HWiNFO. Show us how many cores are throttling. Maybe all of them. Bad temperature sensors on Intel's retail CPUs are extremely rare. Installing a CPU incorrectly is not so rare.
