Ryzen 7 3800x or ryzen 5 5600x?

I can buy ryzen 7 3800x for less than 300$. Should I wait for ryzen 5 5600x or buy 3800 now? I need this processor mostly for games.

The 5600X will be better for games and close to 3800X in multi-core so it seems like the obvious choice given both cost the same.

Wait and check how zen 3 performs, we don't know how the 5600x performs right now.

wait check how it performs and how it compared to the 3800x.

it will probably be similar to the 2700x vs 3600 dilemma people had a year ago. for purely gaming, the 5600x will probably be better, for more professional applications, the 3800x will be better.

I am having the same question. Was planning on going with a 5600 and MB expectedd cost would be 500.  I saw a really good deal on a 10700k also for 500 US for CHIP and MB. I am purely a gamer so do you guys think the 5600 will outperform the 10700k?
