So I recently purchased an RTX 2070 Super to upgrade my GTX 1060.

With that, I also upgraded my PSU from 520W bronze to 750W gold.

I have roughly $800 left on my budget for upgrade.

I am leaning on getting the following

Ryzen 5 2600 -> Ryzen 5 3600
MSI B350 MORTAR -> GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO
TFORCE 8GBX2 3200  *retain
- -> XPG SX6000 PRO 256GB PCIE NVME M.2
Kingston 250GB SSD *retain
Seagate 1TB *retain
WD 500GB *retain
GTX 1060 Jetstream -> Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC
Seasonic M12II 520W

-> Deepcool DQ750M-V2L WH

*note that I mainly do gaming so getting a Ryzen 7 is too much for me.

Can you recommend me other options for this upgrade path?

Thanks!

b350 mortar is fien motherboard for 3600. juts do a bios update and you are good to go.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

If you already have a 2600, wait for zen 3 to launch and check what it has to offer first since you're switching your board either way, you could also check the b550 a pro or the tomahawk or the strix f and those are also decent, but the b550 aorus pro is pretty good.

if you're set/ wont be able to get zen 3 for whatever reason, you can just get a 3600 and update the bios on the b350 mortar.

Yah I would really wait and see what the new CPU's from AMD are looking like and the prices and performance of them. That would be the wise choice because you also know that the 2nd gen CPU's will go on sale or be cheap on used markets because people want the new stuff.
