Visual Basic Save Settings On Exit

Hello, I am wondering how I can save the settings someone has entered when they exit the program. I tried using 

My.Settings.Save()

when they click the exit button but nothing is saved when I open it again. Thanks

One of the settings you are trying to save needs to be a Date.

 

For example: 

My.Settings.LastChanged = Today
My.Settings.Save

 

To load them back use the 'Reload' method of My.Settings

I eventually found what I was looking for. There was a settings tab in properties in the project viewer pane. It then gave me the chart which allows me to add settings to the My.Settings method. All is good now and I was able to retain the data from buttons and text boxes
