Budget (including currency): $1000

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Call of Duty, League, The Division, Possibly far cry

Other details

Current Build:

Ryzen 5 3400G

Sapphire pulse RX 580

Corsair Vengeance 32GB 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM

MSI B450 Tomahawk max pro

Coolmaster hyper 212, using noctua fans both sides

3 Thermaltake white fans

ADATA 1TB M.2

Seagate 2TB HDD

Sesonic 650W Gold+ Power Supply

Thermaltake Epic edition red/black case

Windows 10

What i am thinking about upgrading:

Ryzen 7 3800XT or Ryzen 5 3600XT

3070 GPU (not sure of brand yet)

Is this too much to run games like Call of duty, which I would be playing more often? I am waiting until black friday to get the best deals as well as waiting for more benchmarks on the 3000 series GPU's. I have razor keyboard and mouse, but currently am looking for a 144Hz monitor around 30inches. I will be playing in 1080p, but I would like the option to play in 4k smoothly incase I do go up to that resolution.

If you're waiting that long you might as well grab one of the new AMD chips, not one of the old ones.

Your budget doesn't have room for a 4k, 144hz monitor. Unless you plan on getting that in the future?

Have prices come out on the new chips yet? I haven't seen anything online, only that they will be introduced on the 8th.

My budget wasn't to include the monitor. That was something extra that I want to prepare for. Currently I have a 60Hz.

well, apparently they work with older bios. Unless they only work on certain boards?

Your motherboard will work with zen+ and zen 2 out of the box. Zen 3 will require a bios update on all b450 boards.

ahhhh alright. Makes sense. Not much of a problem. I just want to figure out the best options that last the longest. Do you think the ryzen  3600XT will last me longer than a ryzen 7 3800XT in terms of keeping up with the future of games like call of duty?

The 3800XT will last you longer since its the better CPU.
