What temperatures do you see the card running at ? .. most likely the fans are kicking in only when the board is hot (>50-60C) in PX1 you also have ICX did you checked the sensors ? Is the card ramping down performance ?

Yeah it gets to 85c and starts downclocking

so I can enable the custom profile and it works fine but ffs default it shouldn’t do this

if its anything like my 1080ti ftw3 each of the 3 fans is tied to a different temperature sensor on the pcb, one for core temp, one for memory temp, and one for vrm temp. if you try and do anything in msi afterburner regarding the fan curve it only has control over the core temp fan. seems weird that it downclocks and all that under the default fan profile but if a custom profile works then it works

topics i need help on:

Spoiler

my "oops i bought intel right before zen 3 releases" build

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (placeholder)

GPU: Gigabyte 980ti Xtreme (also placeholder), deshroud w/ generic 1200rpm 120mm fans x2, stock bios 130% power, no voltage offset: +70 core +400 mem

basically everything was bought used off of reddit or here, only new component was the case. absolutely nutty deals for some of these parts, ill have to tally it all up once it's "done" :D

If I don’t set custom fan profile in px1 only one fan spins even under full load

is that normal ?

Currenty I have a Strix card, but prior to that I had 2 EVGAs. All fans would always spin when temps rised during gameplay in all cards.

you can try a fresh windows / driver install - and see if is a software issue - if not .. RMA it :)

Card is second hand I don’t no if evga transfer warrenty ?

Flip it to the OC BIOS... Switch on the top of the card.

The fans will spin all the time then.

Also make sure you have the latest X1 installed, then click upgrade to make sure it is.

I have FTW3 Ultras. All the fans should come on at 55c.

This is strange since the first down clock is a 54c

If the fans are not coming on post on the EVGA forum. It may be a known issue.

Also it my be a PX1 bug. I have 2 FTW3 Ultra setups. On one the #1 fan was running and the rest ran then the GPU hit 55c. The other had all three fans running at idle but when I switched on PX1, 2 fans stopped. Strange stuff.

Sometimes you have to reboot and or shut down X1 and restart it, then it will see all the fans etc.

Yeah, usually after a driver update or Windows update or something.

Then reboot and they are all there again.
