How do I download an application that won't show up in someone else's account that is using the same computer as I in Windows 8.1

Whenever I download a game or any application a shortcut keeps showing up on my family's account and they get annoyed at me and they think I did something to their account but I really didn't.

Select that option which only allows you to install on the current user.

Tell them that user accounts can sometimes do that.

If another account does a program setup, some of the time it automatically installs the shortcuts for ALL USERS.

Sometimes in the setup pages/tabs/screen there is a tickbox saying "Install for all users" <- this isn't always there on every setup but it's the same thing.

Their paranoid because they know less than average, its not a fault, just an annoyance. guide them with not all software is created equal and they all do not share the same install process.

Like when your dad installs something (or get him to actually install something while your there), and it creates a shortcut on your user desktop, Show him this. As he will say "I never went into your account", to which you say "Now you see don't you, I do not go to yours either, windows does this by itself, all you have to do is delete the shortcut or drag to recycle."

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

yes of course that would work but i'm look if there is a solution for this, such as a script that will cause what ever is downloading to not create shortcuts on other desktops

Solution is to educate your other users.
