RTX 30... series

Hi ! So i was just wondering if there is any information about a possible 3080Ti release. I really want to buy the new 3090 (money is not a problem for me), but I dont wanna buy a 3090 now for it to be outperformed by a possible 3080Ti in a couple of weeks.

So do any of you know if Nvdia plan on releasing a 3080Ti and if yes, do you think it'll be less or more powerfull than the 3090 ?

I know i might get 0 reponse, but i hope someone found something or knows something i dont haha !

Thanks !!

It will almost certainly be less powerful than a 3090. Think of it like the 2080 Super - more powerful than the 2080, but still a notch down from the older 2080ti.

If Nvidia releases a 3080ti with better performance than a 3090 at a cheaper price within a couple months of launch, they'll cannibalize the sales of the 3090.  It also doesn't make sense for them to release an -80ti card that's faster than a same generation flagship -90 card regardless of price.

That's not gonna happen. Ti or Super cards are always positioned in between numbered releases. For example, the 2070 Super is faster than the 2070, but not as fast as the 2080. The only card that I could see being more powerful than the 3090 would be a new Titan model, but based on the 3090's markup compared to the 3080, it's going to be pretty pricy, for not much more gaming performance.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

A 3080TI will only marginally increase in CUDA cores at best as Nvidia wouldn't want it to overtake the 3090.

As far as going for the top dog, why not wait until Oct 28 for AMD Big Navi announcement before pulling the trigger. Recent rumors say AMD will give Nvidia a run for money for the majority of games but not in all scenarios.
